WHERE TO STAY:
During our time in Dubai we spent half of our stay in Old Dubai and the other half in the Dubai Marina. Both are very different from one another, each offering a different part of the culture and traditions within the city. Stay in Old Town if you want to be a bit more secluded from the crowds and if you have an interest in touring the Souks. Stay in Dubai Marina if you want to be right in the center of all of the glitzy action.
WHAT TO DO AND SEE:
1. Visit the Burj Khalifa- (at night they put on a light show choreographed with the Dubai Fountain, you can also take the elevator all the way to the stop and take in the views of the city)!
2. Have dinner in the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah
3. Soak up the sun on the beach- (There are many private and public beaches to choose from. Jumeirah beach also has a water park)!
4. Desert Safari- (This is an absolute MUST DO. There are many to choose from, my advice would be to book one which also includes a cook out and live performances at night)!
5. Enjoy an evening at one of the many beach clubs- (Even if you are not much into the clubbing scene, it is still worth a visit just to experience the atmosphere)!
6. Take a trip to the Grand Mosque- (This is by far one of the most impressive pieces of architecture I have ever seen in my life-it is BREATHTAKING! I highly recommend going close to dusk so that you can experience it while the sun is still up and after it has gone down).
7. Tour the souks & try out the food in the local markets!
WHERE TO EAT & DRINK:
1. Pierchic- set on a pier, offering some of Dubai’s finest seafood.
2. Eauzone- Casual during the day, upscale & refined restaurant at night.
3. Zheng He’s- Modern Chinese
4. Buddah Bar- a restaurant, bar, and outdoor lounge are all located within this famed venue.
5. Choix Patisserie-French restaurant by renowned Chef
6. Zuma- Japanese Izakaya style dining in upscale setting
